Surrendering to a larger consciousness is how Sargam Griffin evokes her own unique creative expression. Engaging with the artist is a journey without a roadmap; through the experience, you’ll never know exactly where it will lead, but it is very clear once you’ve arrived.
Each contemporary painting aims to bring light to the world. Sargam paints with a sense of courage and integrity. Every painting is made up of at least 40 layers of paint, varnish, and resin. The layer is an integral part of the process; in essence, represents a step in your journey together. Inspired by transformation and connection, the layers embody the transition from darkness towards light.
You can find Sargam at her gallery home nestled in the Wine Country, just North of San Francisco. In the morning light, she paints in a nearby studio which opens up to the area’s surrounding vineyards. Music and meditation transports her into a creative space. Summing up the experience, she says, “I believe that if the expression is truthful, people can feel it.”
